Dark-eyed Junco

Description:

Dark feathers above, white breast below. Seen most often hopping in the snow. As a child we thought their presence meant snow! They have certainly decorated our snow.

Habitat:

I think they migrate South in the winter from Canada. Likely prefer wooded areas..
