Dot-lined White

Artace cribrariusface

Description:

This is a medium small moth (wingspan 25-60 mm/1-2¼”) with a pure white, furry, body, head, forelegs and hindwings. The forewings are also pure white with rows of black dots, from which it gets its common name.

Habitat:

Photographed under a light on a building in the Amazon jungle of SE Ecuador (700 masl).

Notes:

Proof positive that you don’t need flashy colors to be pretty. One of the most elegant spottings I’ve had.
