Description:

Tall plant. Flowers have a yellow center that fades to brown as it ages. Yellow petals. Dark green ovoid leaves that ar rough in texture. Stems are reddish in color. Related to Sunflowers.

Habitat:

Whirlpool State Park, Niagara Falls, New York. Growing on the opposite side of a fence near the Niagara River. Native to eastern North America. Edible root.
