Paropsis aegrota
A speckled leaf beetle about 12mm long. It was a bit bothered by my flash and quick to fly off
On Eucalyptus saplings on roadside plantings. Road easements result in some very useful habitats.

Thank you for the nomination Ashley. This was a lucky shot. I use a dedicated macro lens for my beetle obsession and sometimes the whole subject doesn't fit in the frame
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
Thanks Mark.
They don't fly far.
Wonderful timing.
