Cape Dwarf Gecko

Lygodactylus capensis capensis

Description:

This little Gecko was about 40mm (snout to vent ie without the tail) with an overall stripy, speckled appearance and big friendly looking eyes.

Habitat:

Hunting along the outside wall of the house. Sub-tropical arid tree/bush savanna with hot, wet summers and dry mild winters

Notes:

The right hind leg must have been damaged/lost as it is regenerating but it is interesting that the tail is in tact and presumably was not lost as a defense mechanism at the time
