Grey-headed Honeyeater

Description:

The Grey-headed Honeyeater has a grey crown which merges to pale fawny grey-brown on back. The wings are a grey-brown, edged in yellow. The tail is also edged in yellow. (The Michael Morcombe eGuide to Australian Birds, Mobile App)

Habitat:

Seen drinking water from the rock at Galvan's Gorge.

You're welcome hey :) Tawny frogmouths are pretty cool...watching them change from a relaxed pose to their "branch" pose is just awesome. I have only just recently gotten a photo of a Tawny Frogmouth which I will put up soon!

Thanks for the book suggestion! My favorite species of bird in the world has always been the tawny frogmouth, there's something about it that's just otherworldly... I also really want to visit New Zealand. I would probably make my first trip to NZ before Australia so I can get accustomed to the smaller number of Australasian species in NZ before tackling a place as diverse as AU.

Thank you Joshua! You know...it's true. The birds here are unreal. Watching and photographing birds is only a recent hobby for me (though I have always loved them!) and fortunately it took off here in the Kimberley region...and not just the birds hey. I will keep everything crossed that you do get the opportunity to come here! If you are interested in Australian Birds, there is a book called "Where Song Began", Tim Low. Amazing. I have to read it again :)
