Description:

Red to reddish yellow on males and females greenish yellow. Heavy Finch with bill that crosses over to open conifer cones. These flew in small flocks of 10 to 20 birds of males, females and immature. Feeding on small cones in Redwood trees.

Habitat:

These were in Redwood trees feeding

Notes:

Also in the same tree were Pine Siskins. The birds were about 60' high First image is a digiscope image.
