Emerald Moth

Comibaena sp.

Description:

Pale green. Translucent. Brown marks on the bottom margin of wings.

Habitat:

drawn to the lectric light at the resort in Borong, Sikkim. Remote, hilly area with a profusion of vegetation; both wild and cultivated.

Notes:

When I was photographing this moth, people commented it was "glowing". For a minute I was confused too...a luminescent moth??? Then I realized it is so translucent that the light bulb above was passing right through at the edges. I have only cropped the photo; not auto-corrected for anything..
