Peacock Pansy

Junonia almana almana

Description:

Nymphalidae; Nymphalinae; Nymphaliini; Junonia almana almana Linnaeus, 1758. I posted this spotting, as you can see, two days ago, but now I am concerned that my identification might be wrong and I would appreciate any advice from anyone who can help. Please see Notes below.

Habitat:

Spotted in our backyard, in a grassy area partly shaded by trees.

Notes:

I know that there is the species Junonia almana and a subspecies Junonia almana almana and I am not sure which of these two "categories" my butterfly belongs to. I am particularly concerned about the pattern of lines which run along the hindwing termen. They don't seem to match the picture of J. a. almana in https://philippinelepidopt.wixsite.com/b... These lines along the termen look more like the picture of J. almana shown in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junonia_al...... but in the article, Wiki says in the opening paragraph "Junonia almana, the peacock pansy, is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in Cambodia and South Asia" - that does not include Philippines. Then, in Distribution, it says "J. almana is found in India, Sri Lanka and South East Asia, and eastwards to China and Japan" That does include Philippines. As far as I can see, J. almana is not mentioned in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bu...... It is also not mentioned in https://philippinelepidopt.wixsite.com/b...... and finally, it is also not mentioned in the Field Guide to Butterflies of the Philippines - https://pbh-butterflies.yolasite.com/res....... So, all is confusion.
