Dendrobium anosmum

Description:

Dendrobium anosmum Lindley 1845, of family Orchidaceae, called Purple Rain, Sanggumay (in Tagalog), is an epiphytic growing orchid, native to Thailand (Ueang Sai Luang), Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia and New Guinea. Flowers are borne on leafless stems, each flower measuring about 8 cm, with mauve to purple petals, with a broad lip and a dark purple throat, exuding a characteristic raspberry fragrance. The flowering period is from February to April.

Habitat:

Backyard.

Thanks. It's good to be back. Spring is opening my senses again as sit in hope for all of the plants that I have nursed through the droughts to come back to life. So far it's looking good for the plants but the drought is still scaring me.
