Ladybird Tortoise Beetle

Description:

A large red-colored tortoise beetle that mimics a ladybug. About 12mm in length. This species is photographed by many other people too from Kuching, Sarawak. So this could be an endemic species found only in that district.

Habitat:

Found it alone on the leaves of some bushes outside my grandfather's house in Kenyalang park, Kuching city, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy : 20m diameter. Other online pictures of it (http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2011/02/08/t...) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/adiroyle/70...) (http://www.flickr.com/photos/artour_a/67...)
