Tufted gray langur

Semnopithecus priam

Description:

A leaf-eating brownish monkey, with a long tail and black face framed with long white hairs.

Habitat:

Found in south-east India and Sri Lanka, here observed on several occasions in dry zone forests and in and around the town of Polonaruwa.

Notes:

Since long time, I'm trying to organise my photo archives, and some very old gems keep popping out.... such as these, taken during my stay in Lanka end of the last century.
