OK, my understanding is we are using Google Maps but only the free service with very basic location data. If the search term you enter is not in the basic datafile it cannot find it so just does nothing. The cost of using the full datafile commercially is prohibitive (over $100,000). The free datafile gives you country and main cities only. Personally, I use Google earth to get a precise location and copy over the coordinates if I don't know them already (one of my cameras has GPS so the mapping is automatic as PN takes the data from the exif file within the picture file). An easy way is to move the map pin manually to the exact spot, save the picture and copy the displayed coordinate numbers to a notepad/wordpad file, this works well for frequently visited places. For this picture you could write "39.63 -0.26" without the quotes into the search box. North and east are positive numbers, South and west are -ve numbers. Use a space between them.
Hi Jason, the only location problems we know about are with Android where most users can only set their current location. Let me know what systems you are using.
Hi Malcom.. Beautiful spotting! It's been a while since the last time I opened PN.. I think there's a problem when we add the location for the new spotting, isn't it?

I use Google Chrome in my Windows PC.. The search button doesn't work and there's no name of the coordinates..
