Ardea herodias
Great blue heron with frog in its mouth, on the pond bank beside my house. I didn't get to my camera in time to capture him catching the frog, but I did get him flying away with it still in his mouth.
Habitat is near wetlands, ponds or rivers. Nests are made in tops of tall trees, usually in colonies.

I snuck up close to the pond and used my telephoto lens.
Wow!! what a shot. Do you have a telephoto lens or were you that close?
Thank you Alice!
Picture two is quite a good catch of him!
