North American beaver

Castor canadensis

Description:

The North American beaver is a large rodent with large webbed hind feet and a flat tail. This is the first time I was able to get a picture of one that was out of the water. It got out of the water to groom itself (pics 1,2, and 5 and video https://youtu.be/NXdNsPJ0IMY). Its eating lily pads in pics 3, 4 and videos https://youtu.be/NDkaIrBE15g and https://youtu.be/00YKLI-_zpM

Habitat:

Spotted at the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge in one of the wetlands that were covered in lily pads.
