Description:

These beautiful flower blooms on numerous stems close to the ground, one flower per stem. With its white to bright pink petals a bitterroot plant provides a lovely splash of color in the high desert landscape.

Habitat:

Sagebrush/Bunchgrass country of the high desert plains/mountains.

Notes:

Bitterroot was a source of occasional food for many Western Indian tribes, the roots being consumed.
