Micrathena sagittata
A beautiful yellow, red, and black orb weaver. The abdomen is spined to deter predators. These spiders build their webs across hiking and game trails to catch insects to feed upon. Females are around 1/4 inch, while the males are approximately 3/8 inch.

This is one of the most visually appealing spiders that I have seen in my area. My hiking partner, Stephanie, spotted this right after I walked past it. That was before I started wearing glasses:))

Thanks again Caleb! I'm really happy to have Stephanie with me on many of my hikes. Due to my poor eyesight, I would miss many of the things that I am getting to photograph.
