Ground Beetle

Description:

Small Ground Beetle, about 7 mm long, with an impressive set of orange mandibles. It also has deeply striated elytra with a faint yellow pattern. Family Carabidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light. Finca Argovia, Ruta de Cafe, Soconusco area of southern Chiapas, Mexico. About 1 hour from Tapachula.
