Pretty lilac-coloured blooms. Stem looks spongy; probably is.

Habitat:

Roadside. Urban residential area. 2nd photo shows the habitat. Growing by the side of a drain ...usually it grows in paddy fields, ditches margins of ponds etc. Considered invasive.
