Trigonospila cingulata
A small black tachinid with crisp white bands on thorax and abdominal tergites.
Spotted in a suburban garden.
This species is easily confused with T. brevifacies. One of the distinguishing features appears to be the thin crisp white bands as opposed to the more triangular patches near the anterior margins of the abdominal tergites in T.brevifacies.
This species is said to be parasitoid on larvae of chrysomelid beetles (Paropsis species).
Family: Tachinidae
