Description:

An all-black tarantula wasp. Some specimens exhibit white tips on their lower wings like this one though uncommon. The relatively straight antennae suggest this is a male. Females have curly antennae. Here is a similar one from Inaturalist: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations...

Habitat:

Spotted on flowering vegetation at the Falcon Lake State Park butterfly garden. Thornbush habitat nearby.
