Catochrysops panormus exiguus ♀
Lycaenidae; Lycaeninae; Catochrysops panormus exiguus Distant, 1886. A member of the tribe Polyommatini, known as "Blues". This one appears to be female as the dorsal colour and markings are rather pale. Males have more distinct markings and are slightly darker (from viewing male and female pictures in https://philippinelepidopt.wixsite.com/b...).
This little butterfly was spotted on grasses and foliage just 200 metres from our house.
I have used as a reference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catochryso... and I must say that some of the information given there is useful. They do include C. p. exiguus in their list of ssp., but once again they have failed to mention Philippines as one of the countries where this butterfly is present.
