Purple above with dark brown patches on both wings. Hindwings have purplish-white spots on the hindwing tornus.
Found in primary and secondary forests. On this ocassion on a riverbank in a forest.

Thanks James, it was difficult to capture as they only open their wings briefly each time they do.
