Parus major
Have seen these two chasing each other for some time, not too far away from my spot. This is a sparrow sized tit, one of the largest (if not the largest) tits in Palearctic, with some 15 cm in length. It has a black head with white cheeks, olive-green back with blue to greyish-olive mantle, and a horizontal white stripe on wing covers. It sports strikingly yellow chest and belly, with a black stripe in the middle - the size of the stripe helps in IDing male from female; narrower stripe being a female (not portrayed).
Seen close to border with Russia, in a very cold valley, surrounded by a very tall Caucasus mountain peaks, some of which reach over 5000m. Valley itself was on some 1900m of altitude, and is regularly beaten by harsh winds, and is composed of barren rocks, montane grasslands and coniferous groves.
