Gumleaf Grasshopper - nymph

Goniaea australasiae

Description:

A small nymph about 30 mm long so well camouflaged that it was hard to pick it out from the surrounding dead gum leaves. The whole body was a uniform grey-brown. A midline thoracic ridge made it look a little hunched. Antennae were short and the same colour as the body.

Habitat:

Spotted amongst gum leaf litter in a national park - Churchill Nat. Park.

Notes:

Family Acrididae

My heart goes out for you when I think of Chooti .May she rest in peace and may you find solace and comfort in the fact that she had a fulfilling life and she was lucky to have you and Mark.
