Collared Kingfisher

Todiramphus chloris

Description:

Lovely Kingfisher, Blue wings but a lot of white on chest. Black beak.

Habitat:

In a garden at Flying Fish Point near Sea and Estuary, Innisfail, Queensland Australia. Late afternoon.

Notes:

It flew in the garden and set himself on a washing line. It was as querious to me as I was to him.

Thanks venusflytrap and LennyWorthington. I think the collared kingfisher comes closest. Althought "mine" looked chubbier.

my best guess is a forest kingfisher, but i can't swear to it, the blue head throws me off a bit.
