Red Raspberry Slime

Tubifera ferruginosa

Red-brown mass with no apparent internal structure. Mass composed of spores that are circular, finely warty; approximately 6.5-7µ diameter.

This is an aging fruiting body. Young fruiting bodies are bright red and composed of individual fruiting bodies that are compressed and look like a raspberry. Gouge marks on surface are due to a slug feeding on the fruiting body.
