A very unusual fly, white with pale green eyes, and patterned with an insect shape in brown on the translucent wings.


Open sourveld grassland.

Pls check out "Fruit Fly Expert Identification System and Systematic Information Database" (1998):

Two species, whose wing patterns were shown in this partial 1980 journal, have southern African distribution.

Wing pattern #6. Goniurellia munroi's distribution: Gambia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, South Africa.

Wing pattern #7. Goniurellia omissa's distribution: South Africa.
