A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Abudefduf saxatilis
Medium sized member of the Damselfish clan. 4-6" (15cm) long, disc shaped silver body with 5 vertical black stripes and a bright yellow dorsal area running along the top third of the body.
Found here on the edge of mangroves just outside the root zone and under a jetty in the Bocas Del Toro area in Panama.
Like most of this family, these fish were both inquisitive and quite feisty in protecting their territory. A lot of fun to swim with and photograph. These images were taken as movie stills.
