Dragonfly exuvia

Odonata Exuviae

Description:

Exuviae (in plural) are the cast nymphal skins of the penultimate instar of Odonata, so in fact it is the exoskeleton of the dragonfly which it lived in for a number of years as a nymph in a pond. This is probably the exuvia of a Libellula depressa, a very common dragonfly in the area it was spotted, near astream, in Othrys mountain, Greece.
