Camel Cricket

Family Rhaphidophoridae

Description:

Large, hump-backed reddish brown cricket with very long antennae and long, spiky legs. These crickets are wingless and prefer dark, moist places.

Habitat:

I spotted this cricket as it was resting on the side of a tree in a deciduous forest next to a stream. As you can see in the video, it appeared to be trying to climb up the tree, but it kept slipping back down.

Notes:

Does anyone know the genus/species for this particular cricket?
