Creek grasshopper

Bermius odontocercus

Description:

A medium-small grasshopper, mostly in shades of brown but with a pistachio green flash on it's sides. About 30mm long.

Habitat:

In mixed grasses and reeds surrounding marshy areas and small lakes.

Notes:

Colour varies considerably in these depending on local conditions and this area was suffering from abnormal dry with most of the vegetation brown.
