Spring Whitlow Grass

Draba verna

Description:

Very small pant with tiny white flowers. Four petals with deep notches making it look like there are eight. Very thin stems. Flowers turn to flattened, football (American) shaped seed pods. Leaves grow low to the ground and clustered together (see photo #5).

Habitat:

Meadow, disturbed ground, yards, gardens.

Notes:

Early Spring bloomer that doesn't last long. I also found this in my yard at home. I found conflicting information as to whether this plant is introduced or native.
