Leaf Cocoon

Description:

Tiny leaves wrapped into a protective cocoon. Strung from twigs of the host plant by silk. Two small holes in each one at the top and bottom where whatever was living inside presumably hatched out.

Habitat:

Woodlands. Connetquot State Park, New York.

Notes:

Perhaps a Leaf-roller? Any thoughts are welcome! Hopefully, I will find live ones this year now that I know they are there!
