the commonest and most widespread member of the genus

Habitat:

tropical rainforest, Sri Lanka, India, Assam, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Java, Taiwan, the Philippines, Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea.

Notes:

This butterfly landed on my boot while we ate lunch on a rocky beach along a river near Batu Punggul, a limestone outcrop deep in the jungle of Sabah.
