Rough Green Snake

Opheodrys aestivus

Description:

The back is green and the belly is yellowish. They have a long tail to assist climbing in trees, which is where they sleep at night. They are mostly terrestrial during the daytime.

Habitat:

Found in the southeastern US and northern Mexico. We found this guy by spotlighting bushes near the water at night. We saw about 10 of these guys, they were everywhere and it was amazing :)
