Balkan green lizard (τρανόσαυρα)

Lacerta trilineata

Description:

A striped juvenile Lacerta trilineata (Balkan green lizard -τρανόσαυρα), in my veggie garden. I managed to catch the lizard, snap a couple of pics, and then I released it unharmed. Spotted and photographed in my back yard, Volos Greece.

Not so soon, this year is the coldest ever, it's hard to believe that anyone cold-blooded would walk around when it's under 20 ;) Even I am struggling ;)

Yes its cute! It looks like the western green lizard (lacerta bilineata), but the balkan green lizard has 3 stripes in its back , instead of 2 :)
