Bayucca, how exciting to find something rare! How in the world did you identify this from the pinned specimens? These are the only 3 pictures I took. They were actually taken at night which is why I had thought at first it was a moth. It came to a small path light along the wooden walkway of the Guacamayas Eco-lodge, close to the river. I will send you the pictures and one of the walkway of the lodge. Thank you so much for all your work on this one.

Lauren, you probably got the jackpot!
Lasaia oileus is a rarely seen butterfly, to be precise, you have the only native specimen on the web! There is no other picture! The only reference I found is the ones from BOA, which are all museum specimens. I was in contact with Kim Garwood from neotropicalbutterflies.com, because I knew she would love your picture. So, she will be very interested to get a copy from your wonderful Lasaia.
Please, send me a mail, so that I can make the contact with her:

Thanks a lot and congrats to this rare spotting!
