Ipomoea quamoclit

Description:

Beautiful little red flower blooming on a fern-like vine growing up a tree. It is called the Cardinal Climber or Cypress Vine and even Hummingbird Vine since it is popular with Hummingbirds. Family Convolvulaceae.

Habitat:

Lacandon Jungle, Las Guacamayas Eco-Lodge, Lacantun River, Chiapas.

Ipomea vines are lovely and they are coming up with newer versions which I think could be hybridized or genetically modified.
i saw this one at the same spot.

Looks like another sub species of Ipomea.Saw this in Heather farms flower and bee garden.
