Common Tree Frog

Polypedates leucomystax

Description:

Golden brown with lighter skin coloured pink belly. 4 Toes with huge suckers!

Habitat:

Bathroom Ban Kuku Phuket Thailand

Notes:

I spotted this little one when taking a shower! It did not seem nervous about me being so close ( why should he it is HIS house -our bathroom :-) Anyway when I was done I noticed him opening his mouth and trying to swallow something that seems to not want to be swallowed. look at picture 1,2,3 where you can see something still sticking out. First I thought it was a gecko, but now I am not sure anymore. It seems very very soft and squishy. Did he eat another Tree frog?

A lot of frog species tend to shed skin layers and eat it. Looks like that's what is happening.
