I've not handled a rat snake yet - our resident one is about 6' long & I suspect too heavy for me to handle & photograph at the same time! I've not seen him yet this year but maybe I will give it a go when I see him next!

It was very well behaved Joanne - though in my experience most snakes do no worse than musk me when I pick them up!
