Aplopeltura boa
about 80cm long, oviparous, lays between four and five eggs.
This snake inhabits lowland and montane moist forests up to 1,300 m elevation. The species is nocturnal and arboreal, and mostly found in low vegetation.
I spotted this snake on a birds nest fern during a night hike in Tawau hills park. The fern was only about 1m (3') off the ground so I was able to get close to the snake and it wasn't disturbed. It was a 3 in 1 spotting, because also on the fern was a frog and a harvestman, as seen in the last photo.

Thanks venus, but you didn't miss it, I posted it very recently.
wow, missed this one, it's very cool dan!
Thanks Ashley, Mark and Chun. Yes, you're right Mark, I didn't include the fern or the mould. That makes this a 5 in 1 spotting!
That wild eye look is both cool and terrifying.
Fantastic snake Dan! Did you count the fern itself and the black mold?
Very cool to get three very different organisms in one photo :)
