Twelve-spotted Asparagus Beetle

Description:

Bright red with twelve black spots as shown. Roughly 5-6 millimeters long.

Habitat:

Found near edge of artificial wetland on the ranch property. Native habitat is very dry shortgrass prairie.

Notes:

This insect is sometimes considered a pest of asparagus.
