Cylindromyia sp.
Asilidae » Laphriinae?
Shawnee National Forest
Thanks for the tip Tamar.
Injica, there are Cylindromyia species in the US but I've not been able to find a match.
I will keep looking...
Cylindromyia auriceps looks like this...but I don't know if it lives there...http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/23800005
No info on the species, sorry. Those big hairs on the abdomen helped me figure it out. Neat fly!
