Common Grey Mongoose

Herpestes edwardsii

Description:

Furry; it is a mammal after all. Like a very, very large rat in shape.

Habitat:

This lives in the heart of a metropolis, inside a thriving residential complex. It hides inside pipes or under bushes but can be seen crossing from one side of the road to the other side inside the residential complex. Known to be able to fight snakes, it is left alone by residents who perhaps hope for a degree of safety from the slithering serpents.

Notes:

Second shot shows it foraging in a garbage dump.
