Only about 2 cm in diameter. I found this little guy skimming across the top of a semi-permanent rain puddle.

I had someone also suggest that it might be a "fishing spider" from Genus Dolomedes - any thoughts on that?

These can be incredibly abundant around water, especially in spring. To identify to species you pretty much have to kill the specimen.
