Eyed Cyclops

Erites argentina

Description:

Erites argentina is a butterfly species in the family Nymphalidae, sub-family Satyrinae. It is found in dark rainforests with dense undergrowth and quite hard to find or to follow. I was lucky as this one flew onto a narrow forest path and stopped for 30 seconds on this leaf, at an angle I could take a photo..

Habitat:

This species is found in dense tropical primary rainforest.
