Description:

Broad-headed skinks (Plestiodon laticeps) are non-venimous lizards, that are brown or olive colored with a reddish or orange head. Juviniles are slighty darker with a blue tail.

Habitat:

Broad-headed skinks (Plestiodon laticeps) are native to much of the southern states, including Louisiana.
