Description:

This was a black and white striped caterpillar, but I'm in question about the head and first segment of the body. It doesn't look quite like a caterpillar. In photo two you can see the shelter this caterpillar has made, and in photo four, you can see the food plant, which was growing between two cornfields.

Notes:

Unless I've seen the imago of this species, this is a lifer for me.
