A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Apalone ferox
This is the largest of the New World softshelled turtles and has most of the Old World characteristics. They start to nest between March to July.
Picture was taken at the Orlando Wetlands Park in Christmas, FL.
It is possibly a female looking for a place to lay her eggs.
